Microsoft Xbox One coming to India in September, starting @ Rs 39,990

DELHI: More than six months after Xbox One's initial launch, Microsoft
has announced that it is bringing the gaming console to India at a price
of Rs 39,990 without Kinect and Rs 45,990 with the Kinect sensor. Xbox
One will be available in the Indian market starting 23 September 2014.
Microsoft made the announcement on the sidelines of its media briefing
at E3.
The Xbox One bundles will include the Xbox One console —
which features a 500GB hard drive, Blu-ray player and built-in Wi-Fi,
one Xbox One Wireless Controller and a free 14-day trial of Xbox Live
Gold for new members.
With the Kinect sensor, the console
offers features like gesture controls, biometric sign-in, controller
paring, Skype video calls, personalization, instant scanning of QR
codes, and enhanced features available with games such as 'Kinect Sports
Rivals,' 'Dead Rising 3,' and 'Project Spark.'
The Xbox One
gaming launch line up in India will include gaming titles like 'Forza
Horizon 2' and 'Halo: The Master Chief Collection,' which comes with the
'Halo 5: Guardians' multiplayer beta.
Other features that the
Xbox One will offer in India include Game DVR/Upload that lets gamers
capture and record game moments and Upload Studio for editing and
sharing clips with the community. Users can also capture the last 30
seconds of gameplay and then share clips with friends.
It will
include a version of Skype specially designed for Xbox One, Internet
Explorer browser and OneDrive, in addition to Twitch, Machinima and IGN.
The console also allows users to watch live TV from their
cable, telco or satellite set-top box through Xbox One with HDMI-pass
through.
Consumers will also get the recently announced updates
to Xbox Live giving anyone with an Xbox access to entertainment
experiences without an Xbox Live Gold membership. Users who purchase a
12 month Xbox Live Gold subscription before 30th of June 2014 will be
entitled to the Xbox One downloadable version of Ryse: Son of Rome, and
Killer Instinct Ultra Edition Add-ons worth $100.
Microsoft said it will announce details related to pre-orders in the near future.
