Microsoft launches Nokia Lumia 530 in India at Rs 7,349
NEW DELHI: Microsoft has launched its Nokia Lumia 530 smartphone in the Indian market, aiming for the segment dominated by the likes of Moto E, Micromax Unite 2 and Asus Zenfone 4. The smartphone has been priced at Rs 7,349 and will be available in the market from August 14.
Lumia 530, the cheapest model in Microsoft's Lumia portfolio, has a 4-inch screen with 854x480p resolution and runs on Windows Phone 8.1, the latest version of Microsoft's mobile operating system. It packs a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor with 512MB RAM under the hood and comes with 4GB internal storage, 15GB OneDrive storage and supports 128GB microSD cards.
On the back, Lumia 530 sports a 5MP camera, but no LED flash; just like Lumia 520, it also does not have a front camera. It can access the internet over 2G, 3G and Wi-Fi networks, and can transfer data via Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0. This smartphone has a 1,430mAh battery and comes in orange, green, white and grey colours.
Compared to Lumia 520, the new Lumia model has a newer OS version, faster processor and slightly better screen resolution.
On the official Nokia India website, the company has still listed Lumia 520 at Rs 9,400, even though it can be purchased via e-commerce sites at approximately Rs 7,500.
Lumia 525, another low-end smartphone by Microsoft, is available at Rs 9,000 and has more RAM, while the rest of the features are similar to those of Lumia 530.
