Microsoft, SAP bring cloud and mobile partnership to India

 

 

 


NEW DELHI: Global tech giants Microsoft and SAP will bring their cloud and mobile partnership to India to help improve cloud and data interoperability and deliver new mobile and productivity to enterprises.

Under the partnership, SAP applications will be available on Microsoft's Azure cloud platform.

The partnership will allow Indian enterprises to leverage the flexibility and scalability of Microsoft Azure for their mission critical SAP deployments, a statement said.

The partnership is expected to deliver 200-300% efficiency increase in IT infrastructure deployment and savings of 40-75% on total ownership costs with Azure's 'pay per use' model.

The partnership supports SAP Business Suite software, SAP Mobile Platform, SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise (SAP ASE) and the developer edition of the SAP HANA platform on Azure.

Tata Technologies promotes Warren Harris as CEO Tata Technologies today said its President and COO Warren Harris has been promoted as the CEO and Managing Director, effective September 9, 2014.

The Tata group company provides services in engineering and design (E&D), product lifecycle management (PLM), enterprise solutions, manufacturing and product development IT services.

Harris succeeds Patrick McGoldrick, who is retiring after spending over 20 years leading the global engineering services and product development company.

"Warren is an effective leader who will take Tata Technologies forward in its next stage of growth," McGoldrick said in a statement.

He will continue to provide counsel to the Board of Directors in retirement.

Expedia launches new hotels & flights booking app for tabs Expedia.co.in has launched a new app, which will allow users to book flight tickets and hotels from their tablets.

The free app will be available from App Store and Google Play.

"Expedia is moving from being just a website to being a travel data platform for the user wherever they are, on whatever device they are on," Kathleen Tan, CEO of AAE Travel, which operates the Expedia brand in Asia said.

AAE Travel is a joint venture company between Expedia and low-cost carrier — AirAsia.
